South- west Escambia Sports Complex offers fields for baseball, T-ball, softball, soccer and football. Chain O' Lakes Complex boasts one Major League field and four other fields. Northeast Regional Park is an 83-acre park featuring six soccer/football fields. Holloway Park is the perfect destina- tion for endurance competitions and houses one of the best cross-country courses in the state. Diamondplex is a softball complex with multiple fields. Convention center: RP Funding Center is a multipurpose arena that hosts sports such as basketball, wrestling and rodeos. The county is home to numerous beaches and cities, including Sarasota, Siesta Key, Longboat Key and Venice, as well as an extensive portfolio of world-class venues. Hotel rooms: 5,500 Hotel tax rate: 12 percent Major facilities: Nathan Benderson Park has an aquatics and rowing facility, and also hosts triathlons, cross country, and 5K and 10K runs. Ed Smith Stadium and Buck O'Neil Complex is a Major League facility boasting an 8,000-seat stadium. Sarasota Polo Club covers 130 acres and includes nine polo fields, two stick and ball fields, and a regulation-size arena. Siesta Key Beach has the capacity of up to 50 beach volleyball courts. The area offers a number of world-class facilities countywide while being close to all of the action of Orlando. Thanks to an impressive portfolio of events recently recruited and hosted, Tampa Bay continues to bolster its reputation as one of the top sports destinations in the country. Hotel rooms: 21,000 Hotel tax rate: 12 percent Major facilities: Raymond James Stadium is a 65,000-seat football facility. Amalie Arena is a multipurpose venue that provides 19,700 seats. University of South Florida Sun Dome has a capacity of 10,000. Convention center: The Tampa Con- vention Center offers a total of 600,000 square feet. The facility has an extensive re- sume of hosting sporting events, including volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, dance, basketball, fencing, gymnastics, karate, indoor soccer and taekwondo.
