Alerus Center offers 100,000 square feet for sports such as football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, wrestling, dance, cheerleading and more. The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center is a multipurpose arena. ICON Sports Center features two official USA Hockey-sanc- tioned rinks. The University of North Dakota Athletics High Performance Center includes a 100-yard artificial-turf field and a 300-meter, eight-lane track. Scheels' Sports adds four baseball/softball diamonds to the community. Contact: Greater Grand Forks CVB, www.visitgrandforks.com Minot Minot is home to many parks, fields, rinks and complexes. In fact, Minot is home to the only facility in the region that has three sheets of ice under one roof. Two softball fields at the South Hill Softball Complex are getting artificial turf, as well as Corbett Field, the baseball stadium. Installation is due to be completed in November. Hotel rooms: 3,000 Major facilities: Maysa Arena has three sheets of ice. The Minot State University Athletics Dome is a multipurpose facility that can seat 10,000. The city is big enough to offer a variety of hotels, dining and facility options but still small enough that it holds small- town appeal. Hotel rooms: 1,970 Major facilities: Aafedt Stadium Baseball Complex is a top baseball facility. Williston Area Recreation Center has a 50-meter long-course pool, four indoor tennis courts, an indoor Mondo turf field, a 200-meter competition track and four bas- ketball courts. Williston Parks & Recreation District offers baseball fields, soccer/foot- ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and a hockey rink. Williston State College has two basketball courts. Painted Woods Sporting Range is a sporting clay course. Agri-Sports Complex features an indoor hockey rink. Contact: Williston CVB, www.visitwilliston.com n BISMARCK: The Kroll's Diner Bismarck Marathon is a United States Track & Field (USATF) certified course and serves as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon. The September 16 event attracts runners from the United States and Canada to compete in the marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10K, 5K run and walk and the kids' mini marathon. The course runs along the Missouri River on paved streets and bike trails. The North Dakota Heritage Center The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck recently underwent a $52 million expansion and completed 39,000 square feet of exhibit space.
