December 2016 68 CVBs & Sports Commissions Sponsored Content onveniently located on Inter- state 20 in the North Louisiana Corridor, we offer a variety of sporting facilities to accommo- date virtually any group, 2,000 hotel rooms, more than 100 locally distinct restaurants, and abundant shopping opportunities. Recently, Monroe-West Monroe has played host to such events as the 2014-16 Louisiana State Games; 2012-2015 BMX Cajun Nationals; 2015 Dixie Softball World Series; 2016 FLW College Fishing Series; and 2014-2015 B.A.S.S. Nation Championship. The most comprehensive sporting opportunities are found throughout the grounds of the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). Fant-Ewing Coliseum is Monroe's premier basketball facility and the Activity Center, located across the street, offers basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts. ULM's Warhawk Field is a 2,000-seat baseball stadium. University Park, a four-field complex with a 300-foot fence and adjustable fencing for both baseball and softball events, will undergo a major renovation to turf all four fields during the fall of 2016. In addition to these facilities, the campus also offers a 15-court tennis area with grandstand seating for 600, as well as the ULM Softball Complex, and a Division 1 Collegiate Track & Field Stadium that will have a new eight-lane track installed in 2017. We have 15 climate controlled gyms with hardwood floor regulation basketball courts and six turfed football/soccer fields. Biedenharn Sports Complex in West Mon- roe is a 15-field baseball/softball complex in one convenient location. Our hard surface tennis courts total to 30 courts across both cities. The Ike Hamilton Expo Center plays host to equestrian, livestock and racing events, seats 3,000 and is the only climate controlled facility of its kind in Louisiana. Monroe-West Monroe is also home to nine facilities with turf football fields. This includes all high schools in our area, as well as a new playing surface at ULM. When planning your upcoming tourna- ment or sporting event, be sure to make Monroe-West Monroe a part of your plans. n C Monroe-West Monroe: the Place Where People Love to Play! Scott Bruscato, Senior Vice President of Sales (318) 387-5691 or (800) 843-1872 Monroe- West Monroe CVB "Bring your event to Monroe-West Monroe and find out first hand why it's known as the Sportsman Paradise. If you host a sporting event, then let our hospitality show you why Monroe-West Monroe can be your tourna- ment home away from home."
