Salina, Kan.
Beautiful prairies, rolling hills, and scenic lakes and rivers mark the Kansas landscape, creating beautiful backdrops for sporting events. But perhaps Kansas' most prominent attributes are its central location in the United States and its midwestern hospitality. "Kansas' convenient, central location makes it an ideal destination for hosting sporting events," said Becky Blake, director of the tourism division of the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism. "The thoroughly modern and world-class sports facilities are enveloped by small-town ambience and a friendliness that makes each event attendee feel welcome and a part of the community. Add in great restaurants, the natural beauty of the Flint Hills, and an unmatched selection of museums, attractions, and historical sites and you've got a just a hint of what makes Kansas so amazing."
