First a logging town, then a hotbed of automotive ingenuity and the birthplace of General Motors, Flint has a rich history that visitors seek out, Murphy said. The area has hosted events such as the Vehicle City International Old Timer's Hockey Tournament, a 27-year-old tournament, and the Crim Festival of Races, a 10-mile race that's annually named among the top 25 road races by Runner's World, she said.
