New LakePoint Champions Center Opens In Emerson EMERSON — LakePoint, the unique planned sports community/sports venue 40 miles northwest of Atlanta on 1,300 acres in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains and adjacent to Lake Alla- toona, opened a 170,000-square-foot indoor facility in June. The Champions Center has 125,000 square feet of clear- span floor space, a minimum ceiling clearance of 35 feet, 12 hardwood basket- ball courts, 24 volleyball courts and nine meeting rooms. The facility's high-tech features include a large video wall and digital scoreboards for every basketball court. The venue has already hosted numerous sports events and has attracted big-name event operators such as Under Armour, adidas, Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and Varsity Cheer. ILLINOIS Rush-Copley Healthplex Offers Only DecoTurf Courts AURORA — The Rush-Copley Healthplex is a spacious 166,000 square-foot facility that offers the very latest in equipment, creative and medically-sound fitness and wellness programs, and is home to the area's only premier tennis club featuring 8 DecoTurf (hard) indoor courts. Supreme Courts Boasts Top Notch Hardwood AURORA — Supreme Courts boasts four high school courts with premium hardwood floors, full climate control (cooled in the summer, heated in the winter), 24 colle- giate-grade ceiling-mounted baskets, large wall and ceiling-mount scoreboards on each court, and professional scoring tables. Supreme Courts uses the same flooring as 90% of NBA courts and top universities like Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Indiana University. The low-profile interwoven subfloor design provides enhanced acoustics and dynamic, uniform ball bounce. Stuart Sports Complex Has 300 Acres Of Action MONTGOMERY — Newly expanded Stuart Sports Complex has nearly 300 acres of action and activity featuring 32 full-size soccer fields, eight lighted softball/baseball fields and parking for 1,300 cars. INDIANA Jonathan Byrd's Fieldhouse & Grand Park Events Center Open In Indiana WESTFIELD — The 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus celebrated the opening of Grand Park Events Center in July. The new 370,000-square-foot indoor field sports and events facility has three full- size indoor soccer fields, a restaurant and administrative offices. Jonathan Byrd's Fieldhouse opened in January at the sports campus. The 88,000-square-foot indoor basketball/volleyball facility offers eight basketball/volleyball courts and four Shoot-A-Way guns. Grand Park has 26 baseball and softball diamonds, and 31 multipurpose fields for soccer, football and lacrosse. The campus also features an abundance of green space and more than 10 miles of pedestrian/bicy- cle trails, including the largest trailhead on the Monon Corridor. The master plan for the property outlines approximately 1,400 acres of land available for residential and commercial development, including hospitality, mixed-use, life science and corporate office uses.
