Charlotte Harbor Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf Islands, which consists of Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and Englewood, is located in southwest Florida between Sarasota and Ft. Myers. Geographically, the area is equidistant between Tampa and Naples. North Charlotte Regional Park has fve baseball felds, one softball feld, four soccer felds and a disc golf course. Carmalita Park offers fve adult softball felds, two football felds and an equestrian facility, as well as one of the top BMX tracks in the state. Port Charlotte Beach Park consists of a man- made beach and other amenities that make it an ideal venue to host a variety of sailing regattas. Florida Tracks & Trails is a multi-pur- pose facility that houses four motocross tracks, 80 acres of paintball scenarios and a 12-acre recreation lake sur- rounded by a white sand beach. In March, the area will host the Sunshine Christian League Boys and Girls State Championships, and in April the area will host the USA Power Lifting Southeast High School Championships. Daytona Beach Daytona Beach is located on Florida's Atlantic coast and is about 50 miles northeast of Orlando. Florida Tennis Center houses 24 clay courts. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University accommodates tennis, track and feld, soccer, basketball, volleyball and baseball. Convention center: The ffth largest convention center in Florida, Ocean Center houses a 42,000-square-foot arena and seats 9,500. The facility, which is 400 feet from the Atlantic Ocean, hosts sports including gymnastics, trampo- line and tumbling, chung do kwan and weightlifting. Emerald Coast Three destinations in one 24-mile stretch, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa Island, make up the heart of the Emerald Coast. Located in Florida's Northwest Panhandle, the region has long been known for its sugar-white sand and emerald-green water and has hosted sports events including cheer and dance competitions and mixed martial arts. Morgan Sports Center includes four soft- ball felds, two Little League felds and three soccer felds. Northwest Florida State College Arena is a 74,500-square- foot basketball arena. City of Niceville Softball Complex houses four softball felds. Fred Hedrick Athletic Complex offers 10 athletic felds. City Hall Complex has lighted multi-purpose felds for baseball and soccer. Convention center: The Emerald Coast Convention Center has 30,000 square feet of outdoor space and a 20,000-square-foot ballroom for multi-purpose use.
