Wichita has a long tradition of hosting sporting events of all sizes, from youth sports to the annual National Baseball Congress World Series to professional events. In 2018, the city and its INTRUST Bank Arena will be an NCAA Division I men's basketball frst- and second-round site. For Your Stay Wichita has more than 8,000 hotel rooms ranging from economy to luxury. The Hyatt Regency Wichita provides more than 300 rooms connected to Century II, bringing total hotel rooms in the downtown area to 1,200. New airport terminal construction spurred a new SpringHill Suites by Marriott Wichita Airport that recently brought 110 rooms into Wichita as well as the new Hampton Inn near the airport that will open in 2016. Holiday Inn East I-35 recently completed a renovation of sleeping rooms. In 2016, a 107-room Home2 Suites by Hilton will open in Wichita's northeast aviation cluster. A new Aloft Hotel by Starwood is scheduled for 2017, and a new hotel will be open near the Wichita Sports Forum complex after that. Entertainment Wichita provides big-city entertainment like sports, the arts and nightlife. With 33 museums, 28 art galleries, 22 live theaters and 17 festivals, more than 1,000 restaurants and eight shopping districts, Wichita is a top Midwest destination for things to do. Wichita is home to the country's seventh-largest zoo, Sedgwick County Zoo, as well as one of the most interactive wildlife parks, Tanganyika. Among our museums is the Wichita Art Museum, the state's largest art museum and one of the nation's fnest collections of American art. Multiple sports arenas with seating capacity for 5,000 to 15,000 people can be found in Wichita. This summer, the National YMCA Gymnastics Championships were held at Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center. Hartman Arena is the perfect size for sporting events and is located on 15 acres near the interstate and INTRUST Bank Arena, with foor inserts for basketball, arena football and hockey, is located in the hip downtown district. What's New? More than 125 basketball and volleyball courts are available, including the Wichita Sports Forum, opening in December 2015, featuring six basketball courts, 10 volleyball courts, six indoor beach volleyball courts, a turf soccer feld and an extreme trampoline park. The Wichita Sports Center, built in this last year, features bubble soccer and 10 volleyball courts. Indoor soccer felds have been added to the YMCA Farha Sport Center in Wichita, which hosts two quality turf soccer felds that convert to six youth felds. Wichita has the nation's newest airport terminal, Dwight D.
