So when the community elected to get into youth sports, they did more than just dip their big toe in the water, they went for the cannonball. Although the waterparks are the fan favorite, visitors can also en- tertain themselves at indoor and outdoor amusement parks, historic attractions and on tours of the Wisconsin River. Restau- rants are plentiful too, catering to large family groups and sports teams. As for sports facilities, there's Woodside Sport's 110,000-square-foot Wisconsin Dells Center, a high-tech permanent bubble dome that accommodates basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, wrestling and even a football field's worth of NFL artificial turf. Their second campus in nearby Mauston is a sprawling multi-sport facility with eight fully synthetic turf fields for baseball and softball. Recently opened in 2014, their third campus is home to six soccer fields and four baseball fields fea- turing—you guessed it—all synthetic turf. There's also the 53,000-square-foot JustAgame Fieldhouse, which can accommodate 10 volleyball courts, six high school basketball courts, or four high school courts and one college court. The Poppy Waterman Ice Arena has an official NHL-sized sheet of ice, bleacher seating for 500 and ample parking for hockey tournaments and figure skating competitions, as well as dance competi- tions, cheerleading, martial arts, fencing, weightlifting, cross-country, lacrosse and bowling. The City of Wisconsin Dells even offers a variety of parks that can be used as sports venues. Rotary Park has two youth baseball fields and Veterans Park has both baseball and softball fields. Both are skin infields with batting cages. It's no wonder events like "The Classic" volleyball tournament, Game Day USA – Baseball, NCAA basketball coaches exposure event and other sports camps and tournaments have called the Dells home. In Wisconsin Dells we understand that for many families, youth sports and the family vacation are one and the same, and that value must be part of the winning game plan. n Game On In "The Waterpark Capital of the World!®" Kyra Popp Sales Manager (608) 254-7180 or (888) 339-3822, ext. 342 Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau "Wisconsin Dells is "The Waterpark Capital of the World!®" This distinction makes the area a natural fit for youth sports and an exciting option for all age groups."
