CVBs & Sports Commissions Sponsored Content December 2015 134 www.sportseventsmagazine.com Vision Graphics Creates Photo-Worthy Look For America's Toughest Stage Race™ ision Graphics designed and pro- duced the look and décor graph- ics for the 2014 Tour of Utah pro cycling event, a successful effort that prompted the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah to Tweet: " Huge thanks to Vision Graphics for making our start/finish lines so photo-worthy!" Vision's design team was tasked with creating a race environment that would reflect the toughness of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains that played host to the grueling race. We responded with a décor package that adorned the start and finish line for the seven stages of the race, as well as the expo, kiosks, course sponsor banners, race vehicles, building wraps, and tech and information signage. Some 433 production files were created to produce more than 5,500 elements that spanned 36,000 square feet of graphics on a variety of substrates. All elements were produced at Vision's 55,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City, and included stage backdrops, vehicle wraps, banners, decals, pole banners, and building wraps. More About Vision As one of the world's leading and most innovative producers of XXL format digi- tally printed images, Vision has produced some of the biggest, boldest imaging in the printing industry, including banners, walls- capes and sig- nage for some of the largest advertisers and sporting events in the country. Vision designed and produced the décor for the 2011-2014 NFL Pro Bowl, and printed graphics for five NFL Super Bowls, the 2002 Olympic Win- ter Games, the 2009 NHL All Star game, the 2009 Orange Bowl and the BCS Championship games. Vision does everything from printing a single fabric banner to the design and production of graphics for an entire event. Capabilities include Lightjet photographic printing, UV ink with multiple layering capabilities and flatbed printing for rigid substrates, I-Cut digital cutting, on-demand digital printing, dye sublimation fabric as well as grand format printing for walls- capes and billboards. More About The Tour Of Utah Utah is home to five National Parks and seven National Monuments; the Tour of Utah hosted venues near four of these nat- ural treasures, three in the south and one to the north. Three Utah ski resorts also hosted a stage start or a stage finish. The week of competition included five road races and one circuit race. Nearly a decade since its opening circuit, the Tour of Utah today stands shoulder to shoulder with the most prestigious, profes- sional bicycle stage race events as our answer to the greatest cycling challenges the world has to offer. It has grown from a respected, amateur cycling race into one of only four internationally sanctioned, multi-stage American pro cycling events in 2014. Showcasing some of the world's most prestigious teams and cyclists for six days in August, this event now attracts world- wide attention as the top international cycling event that follows the Tour de France. n V Gene Chambers Event Graphics Specialist (801) 433-4120 or (801) 549-8637 – mobile gchambers@visiondoesit.com www.visiondoesit.com Vision Graphics "Vision does everything from printing a single fabric banner to the design and production of graphics for an entire event.
