Although the county is composed of numerous small municipalities, there's nothing small about its sports venues, including the 17-feld Snowden Grove Park and eight-feld Greenbrook Park. Hotel rooms: 2,700 Major facilities: Landers Center is an indoor, multi-use facility that hosts sports like boxing, basketball and rodeos. DeSoto Sportsplex is an indoor facility for soccer, lacrosse, feld hockey and fag football. Mid-South Ice House Skating Rink houses an NHL-sized rink. Hernando Civic Center is a 53-acre park with nine lighted baseball and soft- ball felds, an equestrian arena and a roller hockey rink. Hernando Sports & Fitness Park has one lighted soc- cer feld/football feld. Latimer Lakes Park boasts nine lighted baseball felds, four tennis courts, three fshing lakes, a 20-hole disc golf course, skate park, two football felds and two soccer felds. Greenwood Greenwood is a small town nestled on the eastern edge of the Mississippi Delta. The city boasts Stribling Park, which houses 17 soccer felds and two baseball and softball fve-plexes. Hotel rooms: 700 Major facilities: Agri-Center offers 36,000 gross square feet of exhibition space and 1,200 permanent seats, as well as a portable bleacher system that seats an additional 500. The 2,000-seat Lefore County Civic Center has 9,576 square feet of changeable arena fooring and hosts indoor sports such as basketball, volley- ball, gymnastics and karate. ► Take A Seat The Magnolia State Rocker, known as the "World's Largest Rocking Chair," was built in 1995 by the Dedeaux Family Furniture Factory as an advertisement for the family's furniture factory.
