August 2015 62 www.sportseventsmagazine.com The northeastern Caribbean island of Puerto Rico is an ideal destination to enjoy a vacation, relaxation, adventure and—especially— sports. On top of a scenic landscape and great year-round temperature, the island offers easy traveling; a territory of the United States, no passport is required and U.S. currency is accepted. "Puerto Rico also provides world- class facilities and has Olympic autonomy and its own Olympic Committee, which means the destination can provide a high level of com- petition and expertise for almost any sporting event," said Sandra Pomales-Castro, director of communications for Meet Puerto Rico. "It all adds up to a desirable sports destination."
