The eastern Iowa city boasts sports venues like the U.S. Cellular Center and the Tuma Soccer Complex. Hotel rooms: 3,012 Major venues: U.S. Cellular Center Arena is a 6,900-seat, 30,000-square-foot venue that is connected to the 276-room DoubleTree by Hilton and the new U.S. Cellular Center Convention Complex. Tuma Soccer Complex houses 32 soccer felds. Cedar Rapids Ice Arena offers two sheets of ice, including an NHL arena, with seating for 3,850 and Olympic ring with viewing for 400. Veterans Memorial Stadium is a 1,200-seat ballpark. Convention center: The U.S. Cellular Center includes a convention center with 80,000 square feet of space. Cedar Valley The Cedar Valley of Iowa consists of Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Waverly. The area is a sports destination offering facil- ities such as the UNI-Dome, the UNI Wellness and Recreation Center and the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Complex. Hotel rooms: 2,200 Major venues: The UNI-Dome is a 16,000-seat domed stadium on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa with 78,000 square feet of foor space that is primarily used for football and indoor track and feld. The UNI Wellness and Recreational Center includes 10 basket- ball/volleyball courts and an eight-lane, 25-meter indoor pool. Young Arena is a 3,000-seat ice arena that also hosts youth wrestling. The Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Complex includes 11 full-sized competi- tion felds with additional on-site practice felds. The Cedar Valley Sportsplex fea- tures two full-sized basketball/volleyball courts and a nearly 30,000-square-foot feldhouse. Convention center: The Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center sits in down- town Waterloo and offers 20,000 square feet of open foor space.
