Contact: Farmington CVB, www.farmingtonnm.org. Las Cruces A mild year-round climate and 325 days of sunshine a year make Las Cruces a popu- lar outdoor sports event destination. This southern New Mexico city has more than 25 facilities, both indoors and outdoors, that can easily host football, baseball, softball, soccer, BMX, skating, basketball, golf, tennis, track and field, swimming, running and volleyball. Currently, Las Cruces is host to one of the largest slow pitch softball events in the country, the Whole Enchilada Softball Invitational. Hotel rooms: 3,200+ Major facilities: Apodaca Ball Fields offer a baseball and softball field. Maag Park Complex offers four baseball/softball fields. Jim Harty Softball Complex con- tains three fields. Paz Sports Complex offers four baseball/softball fields. Soldados Multi-Purpose Sports Complex accommodates baseball, softball, football and soccer with a field that can be made into five fields. Burn Lake Soccer Complex consists of three fields for soccer, football and Ultimate Frisbee. High Noon Soccer Complex has 12 lighted fields that can also be used for football and Ultimate. For cycling enthusiasts, the central New Mexico city offers high-alti- tude training and racing on miles of paved roads and mountain terrain. Hotels: 7 properties Major facilities: Blades Multiplex Arena is a 60,000-square-foot ice and inline skating facility with a regulation- sized ice rink. The New Mexico Soccer Complex, commonly known as the Bernalillo Soccer Complex features 22 lighted fields. The 78- acre Rio Rancho Sports Complex offers fields for softball, soc- cer and football. Located in the center of the state, Santa Fe is an ideal outdoor loca- tion for sports thanks to its Rocky Mountain location. In fact, the city is nationally rec- ognized as a mountain biking destination with its extensive network of trails. Hotel rooms: 4,627 Major facilities: The Municipal Recreational Complex has five soccer fields, three sand volleyball courts, two rugby fields, a BMX track, six softball fields and two flag football fields. The University of Santa Fe's Rosemarie Shellaberger Tennis Center has six indoor courts, seven outdoor courts and a stadium court. Ashbaugh Park consists of eight soccer fields and a softball field. Santa Fe Downs offers 17 soccer fields. The Genoveva Chavez Community Center features an Olympic-sized pool, a hockey/skating rink, a regulation-sized basketball court, racquetball courts and volleyball courts. The Ft.
