The area offers a variety of venues, including the Mike Daniel Recreation Center, which features two basketball courts, a natatori- um, a golf course, walking trails and a baseball/softball complex. Lake Lanier Less than one hour north of Atlanta is Lake Lanier, a spot that attracts more than 7 million visitors annually. Macon Centrally located in the heart of the state is Macon, a city offering affordable accommodations and high-quality facili- ties. A frequent host of sports like tennis, wrestling, basketball and golf, Macon has also become a popular destination for disc golf thanks to two facilities for the sport, Lake Tobesofkee and Bowden Golf Club. Convention center: The Macon Centreplex encompasses the Wilson Convention Centre and the Macon Coliseum under one roof.
