The city hosts more than 1,000 events annually, including hundreds of sporting events such as regional competitions and national championships. Hotel rooms: 940 Major facilities: The Oshkosh Sports Complex can accommodate 10,000 fans and offers facilities for football, soccer, track and field, baseball and softball. Winnebago County Park is home to 18 soccer fields and also has facilities for baseball, rugby, disc golf, archery and BMX. The 2,000-seat E.J. Schneider Field has two baseball diamonds. Kolf Sports Center is a 5,800-seat, multipurpose arena on the grounds of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and can host sports such as basketball, track and wrestling. The county's topography has made the area popular for running and endurance events, such as the Color Run, the Biggest Loser RunWalk and the IRONMAN Racine 70.3 Triathlon. Hotel rooms: 1,100 Major facilities: North Beach offers 50 acres of sandy beach and is the site of the Ironman Racine 70.3 Triathlon. Festival Hall has 15,000 square feet of space. Sturtevant Sportsplex offers five volleyball courts, three basketball courts and two soccer fields. Racine Tennis Club has five indoor tennis courts. Stevens Point In the center of the state is Stevens Point, an area known for its love of the outdoors. The area features trail systems like the Green Circle Trail, a 26-mile trail that loops the urban area, and the 6,830-acre Lake DuBay, a hotbed for fishing walleyes, northern pike, muskies and bass. Hotel rooms: 1,072 Major facilities: Bukolt Park is a 3,000-seat baseball facility on the banks of the Wisconsin River. Central Wisconsin Youth Sports Complex is a 41,000-square-foot facility featuring a 1,000-seat ice rink. Goerke Field and Park sits on 28 acres and has two lighted ball diamonds, two multi-purpose fields and six lighted tennis courts. The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point houses many venues as well, such as an Aquatic Center with an eight-lane pool, two one-meter diving boards and one three-meter board and Berg Gym, a 1,350-seat gymnasium. Every year the city hosts dozens of basketball, hockey, baseball and softball tournaments. Scheduled to open this month is the Woodside Sports Complex, a multi-sports complex with eight synthetic turf fields. Hotel rooms: 8,000 Major facilities: Wisconsin Dells Center offers both indoor and outdoor fields and indoor courts. JustAgame Fieldhouse completed a major expansion last year and can now accommodate six high school basketball courts or four high school courts plus one college court. Convention center: Various convention facilities are available at area waterpark resorts and casino resorts and total 400,000 square feet of available space for events like wrestling, powerlifting and cheer and dance.
