Page 28 of 51 September 2018 29 Destinations WITH AWESOME EVENTS From time to time, the SportsEvents team asks our friends on Facebook to help us decide which destinations deserve recognition for the sports events hosted across the country. This summer we presented 12 nominees from destinations all over the U.S. that host unique sporting events. We looked for destinations that also had plenty to offer athletes and their families in terms of dining and entertainment options, places to stay and events that create buzz in the community but may not always receive national media attention. More than 6,000 Facebook fans cast their votes, shared the link with others or liked/loved the destinations and events. With so many events taking place across the country every day, it's a major process to narrow down thousands of possibilities to just a few. With the help of our friends, we think the top three winners deliver in terms of 'destinations with awesome events.'
