Located just 45 minutes east of San Francisco, the area offers the facilities and fields to handle any type of sport. Hotel rooms: 4,800 Major facilities: Ken Mercer Sports Park offers 23 baseball fields and nine soc- cer fields. Max Baer Park has eight baseball fields and one soccer field. National Basket- ball Courts has five multipurpose hard- wood courts. Emerald Glen Park consists of four soccer fields, three baseball fields and a cricket field. Dublin Sports Grounds includes five baseball fields, two softball fields and six soccer fields. The Solano County Fairgrounds contain multiple buildings that include a multi-use arena. With 26 miles of beaches and mountain terrains, the area has long been a home for surfing, sailing, moun- tain biking and distance running. Hotel rooms: 5,000 Major facilities: The area offers venues for baseball, softball, soccer and tennis. Contact: Ventura County Coast, Visalia Visalia is right in the middle of the state and an easy drive to most every metro area. With two national parks in its backyard, Visalia makes a great destination for pre- and post-event entertainment. Hotel rooms: 1,200 Major facilities: Riverway Sports Park has 10 full-size soccer fields and four youth baseball fields. Recreation Park is a Minor League ballpark. Giant Chevrolet-Cadillac Mineral King Bowl hosts track and field, soccer and field hockey.
