The city is the destina- tion for attractions, including Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial. Parkview Sports Complex houses 12 tennis courts, six youth softball fields and an outdoor pool. The 210-acre Sioux Park consists of 12 tennis courts, two lighted soccer fields, one outdoor track and three baseball fields. Star of the West Complex has eight softball fields. The city has hosted all levels of sports play, from youth and high school to collegiate, amateur and professional. Hotel rooms: 5,041 Hotel tax rate: 10 percent plus $2 per room, per night Major facilities: Denny Sanford PRE- MIER Center is a multipurpose 12,000- seat venue that's attached to the current convention center and 8,000-seat arena. The Sanford Sports Complex features nine indoor basketball/volleyball courts, an 85,000-square-foot indoor field turf facility, nine outdoor football fields, six tennis courts and three indoor ice hockey sheets. Yankton Trail Park has 21 fields spread across 163 acres. Sherman Park has nine agri-lime lighted fields while Harmodon Park features eight agri-lime lighted softball fields and seven agri- lime lighted baseball fields. Convention center: The convention center is part of the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center and the combined multipurpose space covers 132,000 square feet. Two exhibit halls and a Grand Ballroom space combine to offer 50,400 square feet of column-free space.
