Ash- ton Brosnaham Park has a multi-purpose field. Escambia County Equestrian Center is a 151-acre park with that serves as a multi-purpose event facility. Pensacola Bay Center is a 10,000-seat arena. Southwest Escambia Sports Complex offers fields for baseball, T-ball, softball, soccer and football. Contact: Pensacola Sports, www.pensacolasports.org. Polk County Polk County has many unique features, from nature parks to theme parks to numerous lakes. Another plus is that geo- graphically, Polk County is between two major markets: Tampa/St. Petersburg and Orlando. Hotel rooms: 6,500 Hotel tax rate: 12 percent Major facilities: Lake Myrtle Sports Park features 11 lighted soccer fields, including a stadium field, as well as eight baseball fields. Diamond Plex includes four 300-foot softball fields and one 250-foot field. Tigertown, the spring training home of the Detroit Tigers, houses Joker March- ant Stadium, which seats nearly 9,000. Convention center: Lakeland Center is currently undergoing a $14 million renova- tion that will turn two convention halls into 50,000 square feet of continuous space. Punta Gorda/ Englewood Beach The Punta Gorda/Engle- wood Beach area, located in southwest Florida between Sarasota and Fort Myers, is geographically equidistant between Tampa and Naples, as well as between Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale/Miami. The area is within a 150- mile radius of more than 12 million people. Hotel rooms: 1,600 Hotel tax rate: 12 percent Major facilities: Char- lotte Sports Park features six Major League-caliber fields, including a stadium field that seats up to 7,000. North Charlotte Region- al Park has five baseball fields, one softball field, four soccer fields and a disc golf course. Carmalita Park consists of five adult softball fields, two football fields and an equestrian facility. Port Charlotte Beach Park boasts a manmade beach and other amenities that make it an ideal venue for sailing regattas. Florida Tracks & Trails is a multi-purpose facility featuring four motocross tracks. Convention center: The Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center is a multi-purpose facility that opened in 2009 and houses a 20,000-square-foot col- umn-free main hall. The city offers more than 35 miles of pristine beachfront and world-class athletic facilities. Hotel rooms: 15,405 Hotel tax rate: 12 percent Major facilities: Nathan Benderson Park is an aquatics and rowing facility featuring a 2,000-meter regatta course. Ed Smith Stadium is a Major League facility boasting an 8,000-seat stadium. Sarasota Polo Club covers 130 acres and includes nine polo fields, two stick and ball fields, and a regulation-size arena. Seminole County Seminole County is just north of Orlando and includes seven unique communities. The area offers a number of world-class facilities countywide. Hotel rooms: 5,000+ Major facilities: Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium is a baseball park with seating for 2,000. Sanlando Park features 25 lighted hard tennis courts, eight four-wall outdoor racquetball courts, two outdoor basketball courts, one beach volleyball court and four wallyball courts. Seminole County Softball Complex offers five lighted fields. Seminole Soccer Complex houses 11 fields. Sylvan Lake Park provides fields for soccer, rugby, field hockey, football and lacrosse.
