But Midland is quickly becoming a favorite destination for sports of all kinds. Exciting things are happening in Mid- land. Bush Tennis Center, Midland's premier 18-court tennis complex, hosted the 2014 USTA Junior Team Texas Spring Championships and the championships again in fall 2015 as well as the West Texas Tennis Classic featuring the Bryan Broth- ers, John Isner and Sam Querrey. The COM Mabee Aquatic Center and Natatorium, with renovations com- pleted in April 2016, features two 25-yard competitive pools, a complete springboard and platform diving venue, and an Olym- pic-sized pool, measuring 50 meters by 25 yards. It has hosted many national events, including the U.S. Swimming Junior National Championships, the U.S. Diving National Championships and an Olympic Team Diving Exhibition. The Scharbauer Sports Complex fea- tures a baseball and football/soccer stadium with an adjoining outdoor event venue. Also under construction at the complex are four multi-purpose athletic fields with turf scheduled to open December 2016. Security Bank Ballpark has 5,000 fixed seats and seating for 3,000-4,000 on the grass berm, two picnic areas for up to 2,500 people, VIP suites, and a lounge. Midland RockHounds, the Double A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, play here. Grande Communications Stadium has 15,000 fixed seats, 3,000 grass berm seats, a press box, and a video board. The stadium is home to the Minor Professional Foot- ball League's West Texas Drillers. Mid- land-Odessa Sockers FC play in the United Soccer League's PDL at Grande. VisitMidland provides complimentary services for sports groups and also oversees the VisitMidland Sports & Entertainment (VMSE).
