Athens
In northeast Georgia is Athens. Although
known for collegiate sports—the city is
home to the University of Georgia—
Athens has hosted everything from
NCAA championships to youth and adult
events as well.

can seat up to 2,000 and offers a 17,000-
square-foot removable ice rink. Sanford
Stadium is a 92,746-seat football stadi-
um. Stegeman Coliseum is a 10,523-seat,

seat baseball park.
Convention center: The Classic
Center is a 350,000-square-foot facility
with a 56,000-square-foot Grand Hall
that can host sports such as gymnastics,
hockey and roller derby.

Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia's capital, has much to
offer as a sports event destination, with
world-class venues such as the Georgia
Dome and Philips Arena. More than 80
percent of the U.S. population is within a
two-hour flight of Hartsfield-Jackson
