Convention center: The Mesa Convention Center is located in the heart of downtown Mesa and is situated on 22 acres of parkland. The facility features 19,000 square feet of exhibit space and an additional 19,000 square feet of flexi- ble meeting space. Phoenix Phoenix, the state capital and largest city in Arizona, offers plenty of sunshine. According to the National Climatic Data Center, the sun shines on the city during 85 percent of the daylight hours. Phoenix also offers numerous world- class venues for any type of event. Scottsdale Boasting an average of 330 days of sun- shine, Scottsdale is a prime destination for sporting events any time of year. In addition to its pre- dictable weather, Scottsdale offers easy travel to and from the airport. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is just 10 miles from downtown Scottsdale—and top- notch venues like Scottsdale Stadium and the Scottsdale Sports Complex. Hotel rooms: 14,700 Major facilities: Scottsdale Sports Complex, a 71-acre facility, accommo- dates soccer, lacrosse, football, Ultimate Frisbee and rugby on its 10 fields. The spring training home of the San Francisco Giants, Scottsdale Stadium sits in the heart of downtown and has a capacity of 12,000.
