As home to East Carolina University and Pitt Community College, the area has numerous athletic venues, including East Carolina's new Olympic Sports Complex. This multi-million- dollar project was completed in 2011 and features a state-of-the-art softball com- plex, and soccer stadium. Clark-LeClair Stadium is a 5,000-seat base- ball park. East Carolina University's Softball Stadium seats 1,000. East Carolina University's Soccer Stadium has a 1,000-seat capacity. East Carolina University's Minges Natatorium has an eight-lane pool and diving well. Guy Smith Park has two lighted regulation-sized baseball fields. Sara Law Softball Complex consists of four softball fields. Convention center: The Greenville Convention Center hosts events such as gymnastics, boxing and dance. The city hosts sporting events ranging from national cycling races and the North Carolina Special Olympic Fall Games to youth baseball and soccer tournaments. Hotel rooms: 1,077 Major facilities: Ed Price Baseball Field is a 650-seat ballpark. Johnson Street Sports Complex is a ballpark that can seat 600. A. J. Simeon Stadium is a 10,000-seat football stadium. Phillips Soccer Complex features eight fields. High Point Athletic Complex offers three fields. Correll/Morris Soccer Field can seat 500. Lake Norman The towns of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville are nestled on the banks of Lake Norman. Lake Norman is 34 miles long and offers 520 miles of beauti- ful shoreline, ideal for all sorts of water sports. Hotel rooms: 1,601 Major facilities: Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics offers a 50-meter pool. Bradford Park has five softball/ baseball fields. Bailey Road Park houses three soccer fields.
