Plainfield Township, Michigan
Art Van Sports Complex
Opened: Phase I is set for completion in late summer 2014.
Events: Will host youth and amateur baseball and softball tournaments
for teams throughout the Midwest, including USSSA, GameDay, NSA
and ASA tournaments.
Standout Features: 12-field, championship-caliber baseball/softball
complex. Phase I will include eight baseball and softball fields, including
a 385-foot fenced championship field with lights, grass infields, stationary mounds and covered dugouts; covered championship grandstands
for 1,000 spectators; a Miracle Field for children with disabilities; warmup areas; restrooms; concessions; picnic shelters; and parking for more
than 400 vehicles. Phase II will include four additional fields.
FYI: "One of our top priorities since the commissionʼs inception has
been to build a world-class, multi-field, baseball-softball complex as a
destination for Midwest tournaments—and soon that dream will become
reality with the new Art Van Sports Complex," said Mike Guswiler, president of the West Michigan Sports Commission.
